About Us
The goal of BrandaoFilms is to further encourage filmmakers to follow their dreams and passions.
BrandaoFilms was started by Jonathan Brandao in 2005 at the age of 15.
His love for the craft of stop motion animation, lead to him creating short films with action figures and Lego pieces since the age of 12. In 2005, Jonathan filmed his first live action film, called Dead and Beyond, with some fellow classmates as the actors. That summer was instrumental to the creation of BrandaoFilms. In the summer, Jonathan was part of the Gold Winning Team of the Doritos Fresh Films competition. He also attended the New York Film Academy summer program and created one of the lasting BrandaoFilms creations, D.Ranged M.D. By the end of the year, BrandaoFilms was a registered company.
Over the years, Jonathan was the part of a film production team of a feature film named Methodic, shot a short film on the Universal Studios Back Lot in California, taught a video editing class for kids, created the superhero character Condiment Man, shot and edited bonus features for another feature film named An Affirmative Act, and won the New Jersey Student Entrepreneur Award in 2010.
In 2013, Jonathan graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a BA in Film.
In 2015, the first North Jersey Tri-County Film Festival was held. Hosted by BrandaoFilms.
In 2016, we branched into the arts community with Expressions NJ, Inc., a non-profit arts organization. Through performance art, visual art, film, comedy, music and more, Expressions NJ, Inc. works as a safe environment for artists of all ages. Also as a location where audiences can be exposed to different types of art they wouldn’t normally be exposed to.
In 2021, We started Brandao Collection as a one stop place for all things pop culture collectibles. From showcases, reviews, overviews, history spotlights and even interviews with different collectors. Brandao Collection is designed as a spot to encourage everyone's collecting passions and spread positivity within the community.
